March 17, 2018: One-day Conference in Atlanta

Registration is open for The Rev. Dr. Cynthia Bourgeault at Cathedral of St. Philip in Atlanta

Saturday, March 17, 2018

Cathedral of St PhilipThe Cathedral of St. Philip is partnering with Contemplative Outreach Atlanta and Ignatius House to bring the Rev. Dr. Cynthia Bourgeault to Atlanta.

In this one-day conference, Cynthia will explore the themes of her book, The Heart of Centering Prayer.  Centering Prayer is the path to a wonderful and radical new way of seeing the world. It is not, as is sometimes thought, simply an act of devotional piety, nor is it simply a Christianized form of other meditation methods. It is, in fact, a pioneering development within the Christian contemplative tradition in which the mind effectively switches to a new operating system that makes possible the perception of nonduality.  She will also take us on a journey through one of the sources of the practice, the Christian contemplative classic The Cloud of Unknowing, revealing it to be among the earliest Christian explorations of the phenomenology of consciousness.

This day long conference will include lectures, discussion and question & answer, and of course, time for centering prayer itself.

The cost is  $50/person and includes lunch. Register HERE.

The location of the conference is the Cathedral of St. Philip, 2744 Peachtree Road NW, Atlanta, GA 30305. You can refer to their website for hotel and other information.

Cynthia will also be giving a three day retreat at Ignatius House Jesuit Retreat Center. This event is now FULL – to be placed on the wait list see their website HERE.
